Solution for Dow Chemical
At Canada’s largest chemical manufacturing site, Securitas’ team of security and emergency services personnel plays an important role in Dow Chemical Canada Inc’s daily operations in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
A team of more than 17 people provide a range of services in support of both the security program and the Environmental Health and Safety program at this 2,128 acre facility.
As in many industrial campuses, Securitas personnel support Dow by providing access control for all visitors, contractors and truck deliveries as well as by enforcing the rules and regulations related to visiting this impressive facility. In recent years, Securitas has also worked with Dow to ensure that a team of highly trained and professionally certified personnel is constantly on duty in order to deliver emergency services within the facility.
The Emergency Services team members are certified firefighters under the National Fire Protection Association. The team also provides emergency medical support as they are also certified Emergency Medical Responders. Because of the proactive approach taken to ensuring a safe work environment, the Emergency Services team is not called upon to deal with emergencies on a daily basis. In order to ensure that they remain prepared, the team participates in ongoing training and they conduct regular drill scenarios that are carefully observed and analyzed in order to enhance both prevention and response capabilities.
To provide further value, the Emergency Services team provides regular inspection and maintenance of items such as sprinklers, hydrants and extinguishers.
The Dow Chemical Company is committed to providing leadership in the areas of safety and security. Securitas is proud of the role our people play in supporting their commitment.
