In June 2014, Bernd Weiler will assume the management of Corporate Communications and Marketing of the Securitas Group in Germany. Weiler will report to the CEO and Chairman of the Management Board, Manfred Buhl, and he will manage the department mainly from Berlin.
"The expansion of our strategy as a provider of technology-based security solutions must be intensely accompanied by internal and external communication. We are very happy to have found in Bernd Weiler an experienced Communications Manager and journalist," Manfred Buhl comments on the reinforcement of staff. In addition to the classical areas of communication and marketing, the focus is also on search engine marketing, performance marketing as well as mobile and online marketing.
Since June 2007, the economist Weiler has been working for the Corporate Communications department of Deutsche Bahn at Potsdamer Platz. As Head of Communications Transport & Logistics/International, Weiler – among other things – managed the internal and external appearance of DB Schenker during the past five years. After his studies in Tübingen and Frankfurt/Main, Weiler received a Fulbright scholarship and spent one year at the Michigan State University in the USA, before he joined the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (F.A.Z.) where he was a member of the editorial department for business and finance for seven years. From 1997 until 2007, he worked as a Far East correspondent for the daily newspaper "DIE WELT", based in Tokyo and Seoul.
"Thanks to him and the strong current communications team, we have first-class expertise in communications, which will help us to make Securitas and its competences even more famous," says Buhl.
