Securitas Rennes, a small organization managed by proactive professionals
Securitas is currently the security service provider at Rennes and Quimper airports, with 36 employees based at Rennes and 14 at Quimper. Since 2003, Securitas has been responsible for the screening of cabin and hold luggage, freight, for the road access with screening point and airport fire-fighting tasks.
Flexibility and high responsiveness
“Security is one of the major tasks carried out by airport managers on behalf of the State. The airports have to guarantee the continuity of public services and the related resources, despite flight schedules that are often subject to major changes. Working in the airline industry means we have to be very quick to respond and demand the same responsiveness from our partners,” explains Thierry Ligonnière, President of SEARD (Société d’Exploitation des Aéroports de Rennes et Dinard ).
“It is important for us to have a player that is recognized for its rigorous management of security procedures and for its ability to mobilize resources rapidly not only at a local, but also at a national and sometimes international level,” notes Thierry Ligonnière. It is important to have a security provider that is a true partner, shares information, and is attentive and responds quickly.
“Securitas is a global company that has a real operational network, with extra resources capable of dealing with situations that can be somewhat complicated operationally”.
The main concern of an airport manager is to optimize the cost of security. The service must be optimized, there must be no security risks, and it is essential to have a service provider who acts as an interpreter and a partner who shares information.
In the last few years, Securitas has demonstrated “quality and expertise in terms of training, proven itself to be a partner in the field via its Local Operations Director and, more generally, to be a highly professional and responsible company,” concludes Thierry Ligonnière.
