Mayan Palace Hotel in Mexico
Mayan Palace is the largest tourist complex in Acapulco, Guerrero which is owned by Grupo Vidanta, leader investor in the most recognized vacation destinations in Latin America.
The Mayan Palace is located in one of the most exclusive areas in Acapulco; the resort is located in a 1,500 hectare area, together with the Gran Mayan Hotel, Sea Garden and Mayan Palace golf course. The latter considered as one of the most spectacular in the Mexican Pacific area.
The need to have an internationally recognized enterprise, who could also guarantee the security of their installations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, led the Hotel Directors to carry out a thorough selection of the security supplier.
Eduardo Mendoza, Security Manager stated: “There was a bid carried out where the most representative security companies in the location participated. There were several factors considered and one of them was their international expertise. This is very important for us since we sell around the world; we mainly receive Japanese clients as well as German, British and North American”.
The service started with 22 security officers who were in charge of all the external areas in the place, and currently there are around 37 security officers who guard the facilities during the high season in this recognized hotel maintaining the security of the more than 2000 visitors they receive.

“In regards to training, we work very closely with the Human Capital area and they even present their annual plan in regards to civil protection brigades. The security officers receive first aid courses, extinguisher usage, amongst other courses”. “We constantly have improvement meetings, there is feedback via email and they support us very much mainly with their occupation status since it is constantly fluctuating; we can be in 70% one day and the following morning we start the day in 94%. Securitas is committed to having all the areas thoroughly covered and particularly providing the guests and the client a quality service” stated Eduardo Mendoza.

In the interview, Eduardo Mendoza stated: “The security system is efficient, we work hard because security is not simple, mainly when insecurity increases. We are constantly giving feedback on the orders and detecting opportunity areas”. “Regarding the security officers I can say they have a very good appearance; the uniform gives them a very good image and I have seen the demand on the part of the service leader in order to meet all the security details within the hotel”.
