Working well in a safe environment in Denmark

Jobcenter Horsens had identified a need for tighter security in order to make sure that the employees' daily working lives continued to be safe. In partnership with Dansikring, the employment centre selected a flexible and discrete full service agreement, comprising a Securitas Panic Button system with an on-site security officer and guards on standby.

Daily Challenges for Employment Centre Staff

At Jobcenter Horsens staff safety and security is the top priority. The employees interview many different people each day and from time to time they are confronted with unpleasant situations.  The employee's capacity to work is usually affected by this either during or after the interview. Over and above the everyday challenges of this kind of work, a violent episode between a case worker and a client took place recently at the employment centre in Holstebro and Horsens Jobcenter was prompted by this to improve their own security.

Flexible and Discrete System

Alternative solutions were discussed with Dansikring and in the end the employment centre opted for a full service agreement with a Securitas Panic Button system with an on-site security officer and guards on standby.

The Securitas Panic Button system in Horsens is the largest of its kind in Denmark. There are 14 receivers and 160 personal alarms. When a member of staff presses the button, the closest guard receives a text message telling him the current location in the building of the member of staff who raised the alarm. As Dansikring already has guards patrolling the pedestrian high street in Horsens in the immediate vicinity of the employment centre, guards arrive at the employment centre in less than two minutes.

In addition to the option to call a guard, a security officer is based at the employment centre several hours a week. This enables employees to plan interviews with specific citizens to coincide with the presence of the security officer. Employees can also choose to book the security officer to monitor an interview, thus giving maximum security and optimum working conditions.

Reliable Service and Fast Response Time

"We had three requirements of the alarm system:

• The alarms had to be flexible and small enough to carry anywhere in the building
• They had to be discrete
• They had to be easy to use

The Dansikring solution meets all of these requirements and today we have a system that all our employees are completely satisfied with.  Dansikring's alarm service is reliable and, when the alarm is raised, response time is fast.”, says Malene Rasmussen, HR and Planning Officer.
