Public Environment Security

As a Security Officer within a public security environment, you will be working within one of Securitas' customer segments where you will interact with members of the public during your day to day operations. 

Public Safety and Security

You can be a Security Officer at a hospital, governmental body, train station or store. Since these bodies are public environments, you can be confronted with difficulties such as aggression and threatening behaviour. Each body or segment is special with it's own kind of difficulties. That is why you get specific training if you work for one of the specific segments. Wherever you work, you should always be helpful and want to provide a good service and maintain a professional attitude. But the safety of the civilians and the employees of the customer is your first priority.

General Requirements:

For this area of employment within Securitas, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You are vigilant, helpful and work with complete integrity
  • You have a ten year month on month checkable history
  • You are fully flexible and able to work all shift patterns
  • You are of good conduct and character
  • You are a minimum of 18 years of age
  • You may be required to wear a uniform
  • PSA Licence required
  • You speak the local language (English) fluently.
  • Additional language and computer skills may be beneficial
