The healthcare sector faces a wide range of security challenges. It must enable visitors and employees to have a large degree of freedom, yet protect staff, visitors and equipment from unauthorized access that can threaten staff and patient safety and equipment from vandalism.

Investment in healthcare equipment, whether in the public or private sector, has never been higher, yet the threats to visitors, staff and equipment has also increased dramatically.

Challenges

Not only are healthcare establishments targeted through theft and equipment vandalism, but now even they are even the target of terrorist attacks. Both staff and visitors often need protection from abuse and personal attack and even removal from the premises.

Healthcare has woken up to tighten security. Installations of video cameras on all floors and check each and every car that enters has become important. There is no option but to appoint more security guards and armed guards. Managing big crowds of patients’ relatives/visitors without compromising on security is a challenge for the segment.
