The Transport Market Segment is by nature diverse and complex.
In the UK, Securitas deliver Security Solutions to Maritime and Public Transport, whereas our European counterparts have developed extensive knowledge and experience in delivering a range of services to the Aviation Industry.
The Securitas Maritime partnership has evolved and developed significantly in recent years. The traditional requirements of passenger safety have increased due to the events of 9/11 and now include extensive searching techniques supported by Information Technology.
A Control Centre has been established in North Wales and this vital Operation is managed by Securitas employees and Systems.
Added Value services delivered in recent years include the provision of training for the International Ship and Port facility Security Code (ISPS), for which Securitas has an inviable reputation within the UK Security Industry.
In Public Transport, Securitas has along-standing partnership in the North of England and provides Security Officers to Bus Stations and a team of CCTV Operatives to our Customer's Control Room.
Aviation remains a complex, high-risk component part of the Transport Segment, and remains an area of potential, dependant on Market conditions.
Securitas Security Services UK commenced contracted services to Stena Line Ports in the Netherlands, UK and Ireland in September 2002. There had already been a Scandinavian contract in place between Stena Line AB and Securitas AB since 1998
Poole Harbour Commissioners requirements for a professional security service have always been built around its own underlying principles of being able to provide a professional service for its customers and members of the travelling public.
Ongoing theft problems faced by a leading Yorkshire freight company have been solved following the installation of an IP based security system incorporating intruder detection, CCTV and speakers. The system was installed by WRS Solutions with the help of Securitas - Alert Services, which now provides a full out-of-hours monitoring and keyholding response service at the secured site.
