SAFETY Act
After an extensive review by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of the service standards adopted and followed by Securitas Security Services USA, the DHS has awarded Securitas USA, certain of its affiliates, its customers and subcontractors (if certain conditions* are met) from and after January 1, 2011 liability protection afforded by the SAFETY Act, "Designation" for a broad range of services.
Support Anti-Terrorism By Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act
Congress passed the SAFETY Act as part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to encourage the developments of anti-terrorism products and services by limiting liability from claims brought as a result of a DHS-designated terrorist attack where approved anti-terror technology or services are deployed. Securitas was first granted protection under the SAFETY Act in December 2005 (Designation and Certification).
Briefly, here is what this protection means to you:
- If certain conditions are met, you may be entitled to benefit from our Designation protection (liability, if any, for a qualifying event capped by statute at agreed upon limits of insurance).
