K-9 (Canine) Services

Securitas has launched Securitas K-9 Services to support the patrol and odor detection needs of small, medium and large businesses. K-9 offers its customers the ability to employ proven, world-class security and detection measures at their facilities at a competitive cost. This service differentiates Securitas from other security providers because of its three main strengths – superior training, coverage capability and reliability.

A Value Added Security Solution

K-9 detection is a security solution for customers who may experience a greater level of risk from terrorism, weaponry, bomb threats, the presence of narcotics or physical attacks due to the nature of their business.

These customers may include: high-rise buildings, parking structures, transportation, shipping and logistics facilities. K-9 has also been called on to perform explosive detection services at highly visible sporting events, entertainment and cultural and educational venues.

The K-9 leadership team has over 50 years of combined experience in training, handling and canine care. Over 60 fully trained canine handler teams are ready for immediate deployment, providing unparalleled capacity and scalability to its clients. Our quality standards have been recognized and certified by a variety of organizations, including the Ohio Attorney General's Office; U.S. Police Canine Association; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Drug Enforcement Administration; the Illinois Department of Natural Resources; the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy.

As a demonstration of Securitas’ long-term commitment to this division, a state of the art agility course has been built at the division’s Chicago headquarters along with a 10,000 gallon therapy pool. The 17,000 square foot kennel facility also includes additional training rooms and a veterinary clinic.
