Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) – Patriotic Employer Award

A ceremony was held on March 3rd at the Port of Virginia Police Headquarters in Norfolk, VA to honor Senior Supervisor Wanda Garcia and Securitas USA with the Patriotic Employer Award for support of the Guard and Reserve. Garcia has worked for the company since 2009 and is employed by the Mid-Atlantic Region in the Virginia Beach, VA branch office. Career Corner

As an employer, Securitas USA has demonstrated an understanding of the essential role our Guard and Reserve play in preserving our country’s national security in times of crisis or need. The men and women of the Guard or Reserve. voluntarily serve in an honorable and vital profession and need the support of private employers in order to continue their service. Securitas USA honors their commitment to our country and provides our managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard or Reserve.

Wanda Garcia was nominated for this award by Security Officer Michael Harris,
who serves in the Guard. Harris works at the security gates and in the Terminal
Safety Unit. Securitas currently employs six Guardsman or Reservists and 23
veterans at the Port of Virginia. “Wanda Garcia exemplifies what a supervisor should be. She knows her people, their personalities, backgrounds and skillsets, which allows her to maximize cooperation from officers and provide excellent service to the client,” said Securitas Account Manager Brinley Billings. Securitas USA takes great pride and joins the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve organization in recognizing Wanda Garcia, our senior supervisor at the Port of Virginia, for her outstanding support of our Guard and Reserve employees.
