Location: Dallas Texas. USA
Years with Securitas: 21 years
My current role: In my current role with Securitas Technology, I service client’s Intrusion, Access, Fire and Surveillance systems. When the client needs service I diagnose the problem and make repairs to make sure the electronic security is working correctly. I also do preventative maintenance to ensure the clients electronic Security is at peak performance.
Topic studied and where: I spent an inspiring week in Dublin with the Securitas Technology team, learning how our Service and Install teams deliver tailored security solutions across Ireland. Their strong teamwork and commitment to quality stood out in every interaction.
I also met our engineers, highly trained through college, apprenticeships, and certification, who ensure every product is expertly installed and serviced. Their dedication helps us meet client needs with precision and care, making the world a safer place.
Why did you apply for the scholarship?
I wanted to meet with other teams around the world to see how they operate and the way they provide service to the client. I wanted to broaden my knowledge of how Securitas operates and to experience how I can bring back knowledge to share with my team and to strengthen the way we build and maintain our relationships with our peers and clients.
What did you learn/gain from the study visit?
I leaned how we may be across the world from each other but our standards to deliver excellence to our clients are the same. The time with the Dublin team showed me how important teamwork and communication between teams are. They instilled a sense of pride and drive to deliver a well-trained engineer and showed me how the technician certification program can help to enhance employee's skill set and elevate the level of service we provide our clients. Best of all I met new friends in another part of the world opening a gateway with Dublin, Ireland for future communication and feedback.
How will you share this knowledge/experience within your organization?
I plan on having a meeting with my senior management, local team and management to talk about my experience with my trip and key takeaways about my experience that would help open training opportunities within our organization.
