Securitas enters the security services market in Serbia

Following the strategy to further expand its presence in Eastern Europe, Securitas has acquired the security services company SCP International in Serbia. Enterprise value is estimated to MSEK 36 (MEUR 3.8).

SCP International is the third major security services company in Serbia, with 6 percent market share in guarding. The company has annual sales of approximately MSEK 76 (MEUR 8) and about 1,500 employees. SCP International, which was established five years ago, has a strong position in the capital Belgrade and also guarding operations in other 45 cities in Serbia.

The Serbian economy is developing with a GDP growth of 6 percent and the Serbian security market is estimated to be worth MSEK 1,400 (MEUR 148).
The acquisition has been approved by the Serbian competition authorities.
SCP International will be consolidated in Securitas AB as from September 2, 2008.
